A historic hotel located in the town of Whitefield, New Hampshire, The Mountain View House is now famously known as The Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa. The hotel was declared part of the National Historic Register in 2004.

Upon the arrival of rail travel after the Civil War, tourism became a major contributor of the Whitefield economy. Accepting their first guests in 1865, William and Mary Dodge became some of the first people to open an inn which they called the Mountain View House.

In the coming years the inn business boomed that several additions were constructed. In 1912, the property was able to accommodate 200 guests in one point. The hotel business grew in the next years until the family sold it in 1979. However, the new owners were unsuccessful that the hotel closed in 1986. It is only in 1998 that an investor purchased and reopened the hotel with an addition of other facilities like a golf course and a conference hall.
