Built around the late 1700s, the Salmon Portland Chase Birthplace is a former residential building in New Hampshire. It is a 2 and a half story frame house in the Colonial style and is where the noted politician and jurist, Salmon Chase, was born in 1808.

Salmon Chase lived in the property until he was eight years old. The house that is present today is the only known extant building associated with Chase?s life. It is also not the original design of the structure, as the one where the politician was born had to be moved to make way for a railroad.

The Salmon Portland Chase Birthplace was declared as a National Historic Landmark in 1975. It is also commonly called as the Salmon Chase Birthplace and Boyhood Home.
