Although, there aren?t actual sculptures of fairies or whimsical beings around, Joseph Laux? work still earned the title ?Backyard Fairy Garden? for its stunning creations of castles, bridges, moats, and towers in his property. Everything is made out of shells, rocks, and broken china, adding to the charm of the spot.

Created around the 1940s and 50s, it may not be the craziest or largest of its kind, but the fact that it has been continuously maintained and restored over the years is a great touch to the work?s history. The original creator of the Backyard Fairy Garden may have passed away in 1991, but his creation is still very much alive, thanks to his relatives.

Backyard Fairy Garden could be found on the Laux family home in Deptford.
