Located at the tip of Cape May in New Jersey, the Cape May Lighthouse serves not just as a light giver but as a Historical Landmark as well. Built in 1859, the lighthouse continues operation even to this day. It is 48 meters tall or 217 steps from above the ground. It has two separate walls, which adds to its strength in withstanding strong winds and hurricanes.

Around 100,000 people come to Cape May every year just to have a glimpse of the historical site. To reach the top of the lighthouse, you need to hike 199 steps of the spiral staircase inside the tower. If you don?t want to climb, you can have fun in the Oil House where you can find the Museum Shop and the visitor?s orientation center.
