Take a step back in time when you visit the Howell Living History Farm, which was originally owned by Inez Howell. 45 acres of the property are used for actual practice of historic farming techniques as a means of showing and preserving the old ways of managing a family-owned farm. Animals in the farm?s care are breeds that have been present in the area since the beginning of the 20th century and are nurtured with a mixture of historically correct and modern practices. Other historic points of interest at the farm include the main barn, which was completed around 1840, and the farmhouse, which was built in the early 19th century.

Today, the farm is recognized as the keystone of the rural historic district of Pleasant Valley as well as being listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also owned and managed by the Mercer County Park Commission.
