The Hunterdon Art Museum features changing exhibitions that showcase contemporary art and design in a 19th century stone mill that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. On the site, the Museum displays works by established and emerging artists. The Museum, which is also a landmark regional art center since 1952, also offers a dynamic schedule of art classes suitable for both children and adults. Some of these programs include studio classes, gallery talks, workshop, and docent-led gallery tours.

The Museum?s collection focuses on works of paper. This collection that continues to acquire emphasizes on prints although one can find drawings, paintings, and works dating back to the 1930?s and done by locally and internationally recognized artists from the region. Among these are prints by Mark DiSuvero, Philip Guston, Alex Katx, and Ad Reinhardt. The permanent collection also includes purchase prizes from the Museum?s Annual National Juried Print Exhibition that make up the Anne Steel Marsh Collection.

The Hunterdon Art Museum also holds and participates in educational and special events throughout the year.
