Every year, the program presented by the Howell Living History Farm opens up with the Ice Harvest event. The farm where it is held is considered to be an educational facility that is made open to everyone to preserve and feature the life in the farm and other processes which happened between the years of 1890 and 1910.
It is during the event that visitors can actually have a hands on experience by learning how to cut, chop and shave ice. You can entertainingly fill up an entire house with ice and even make your own ice cream the whole day. If the weather is stable, you can even get to join the entire events crew right on the pond to move ice blocks and transfer it to the icehouse.
