The Meadowlands Museum occupies an early 19th century farmhouse. It is among the few homes from that period that stills exist today in the Meadowlands area. It is listed on the Bergen County stone house survey as well as one the state and national register of historic sites; and the Historic American Buildings Survey.

The Museum collects items that are significant to the history and development of the Meadowlands area, including its communities. These include photographs, manuscripts, maps, paper items, and other objects like tools, textiles, folk arts, toys, rocks and minerals of the area.

The Meadowlands Museum also offers educational programs. It houses its own Museum Store where visitors can purchase souvenirs and items that are related to the Meadowlands area.
