Another landmark restaurant in South Jersey, the Crab Trap restaurant has been serving locals and tourists at Somers Point since 1967. This restaurant was opened to diners by Jack Wallace by the name ?Maenner?s Caf?? on the Somerset Plantation, which is currently known as the oldest estate in New Jersey. Sandwiches and tap beer were the usual fares served at the old Maenner?s.

From being a bar, the Crab Trap Restaurant flourished into a full-service seafood dining place that can seat 400 patrons. It is known for serving the best seafood in the State of New Jersey. Their food and service remained of high quality and these two factors helped keep them in business for so many years. The restaurant was nominated as the ?Best Seafood Restaurant? in 2009 by the Press Readers Poll. Their bestselling dishes are crispy crab cakes, Bos? N Mate, and the live Maine lobster.
