Initially named as the ?Tear of Grief? or the ?Tear Drop Memorial?, the 100 feet tall bronze tower with a tear drop-shaped 40 feet stainless steel hanging in the middle was renamed ?To The Struggle Against World Terrorism Memorial? due to controversies and criticisms from New Jersey locals and 9/11 survivors alike.

Sculpted by Zurab Tsereteli and presented as a gift from the country of Russia, the unique memorial was created with the purpose of honoring the victims of the World Trade Center bombing in September 11, 2001 and the 1993 bombings as well. It also stands as a symbol of unity in the on-going campaign against world terrorism.

The ?To The Struggle Against World Terrorism Memorial? was dedicated in September 11, 2006 and was attended by ex- US President Bill Clinton. Located at Bayonne Harbor?s The Peninsula, one can see the Statue of Liberty and former World Trade Center directly across the memorial.
