Located on top of a 367-foot sandstone mesa in New Mexico, the Native American pueblo Acoma Pueblo is literally a ?Sky City?. This early settlement was populated around 1100 and is still bustling with human activities, making if one of the oldest continuously active communities in the United States.

The pueblo was inducted into the National Historic Landmark list on October 9, 1960. The site contains the Sky City Cultural Center and the Haak?u Museum ? institutions that aim to preserve the Native American traditions, culture, art and history. Just a few minutes of drive, tourists can visit the city from Albuquerque. The Cultural Center offers guided tours of the city, as well as exhibits of Acoma pottery and crafts. Visitors can buy Native American handicrafts made by local artisans, attend cultural exhibits, and witness performances.
