Folks who are interested in exploring a wide variety of terrain will certainly like visiting to the Bandelier National Park. This New Mexico monument is a wide expanse of land that is covered by plenty of rock formations created by volcanoes that lie in the region. The park is also home to a large assortment of wildlife, ranging from small hummingbirds to black bears.

Aside from these natural wonders, Bandelier is also well noted as an archeological site. According to studies, human settlers have been living in the region for as early as 10,000 years ago. Today, visitors can head to the Frijoles Canyon in the area to see some of the ancient houses still standing here. The museum would also be an interesting stop.
