A rich culture and captivating history of the Anasazi or the Ancestral Puebloans are preserved here at the Chaco Culture National Historical Park. The Indian-American natives were the first to inhabit this pre-historic Four Corners area from AD 850 to AD 1250 and made the Chaco Canyon as their hub of culture, ceremonies, architecture, trade and government. The remnants of the amazing combination of astronomy, architecture, geometry, landscaping and engineering that was used by the Chacoan people to build this ancient city can still be seen today and continue to astonish and inspire even after thousands of years.

Aside from its historical value, the Chaco ruins are set perfectly in a stunning desert landscape, which makes this destination a well-known attraction in New Mexico. Declared as a World Heritage Site in 1987, this national historical park welcomes visitors from all over to take part in their guided tours, camping activities and night sky programs.
