The Chimayo Museum is a local history museum in Chimayo, New Mexico. It tells of the local tradition of the town of Chimayo, in effort to preserve the town?s history and promulgate the information to the youth of today.

Opened in 1995 by the Northern New Mexico community and the Chimayo Cultural Preservation Association, the Chimayo Museum features displays dedicated to showcasing the area?s local history. The site is housed in a classic adobe structure that is distinct to the area and its colonial Spanish roots. It is also located on the Plaza del Cerro, which was once the center of the settlement back in the 1740s.

The Chimayo Museum features photographs and other historic items on display, some of which date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s. There are also displays of contemporary work that features student art shows.
