The Clovis Depot Model Train Museum provides enables it visitors to know more about the history of railroad in the Clovis and Belen cutoff. Through its eleven operating layouts that represent most scales, it is able to give a general and detailed overview of the railroad industry in the area, including its history, aside from giving them great views of the BNSF railroad operations.

In the early 19th century, the depot served as the division point offices, passenger station as well as a boarding facility for train crews between their work assignments. Today, it has been restored to regain its 1950?s state in order to highlight the transition from steam to diesel in Santa Fe. Functioning as a museum, it features historic documents and pictures that show its original purpose around the time when it was just built. One of the Museum?s attractions is the telegraph station. The Museum boasts of different and distinct layouts such as the Scale Caledonian Railway Preservation Society Model Railroad, which depicts the history of railroad in Great Britain, and the HO Scale Ghan Preservation Society Model Railroad, which shows the role of railroad in the development of the Central Australian outback.
