The Elephant Butte Lake State Park is a state park in Elephant Butte, New Mexico. It features the largest and most popular lake in the state of New Mexico, the Elephant Butte Lake.

Offering 24,500 acres of land area not mentioning the 36,500 acres of lake surface, the Elephant Butte Lake State Park is also home to a visitor center featuring information about the creation of the Elephant Butte Dam, which was completed in 1916 and is considered as a major engineering achievement during its day. Aside from this, the site also hosts several water sports and water-based recreation. Among the top things you can enjoy here include camping, fishing, picnicking, water skiing, sailing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and numerous winter sports.
