The International UFO Museum and Research Center was established in 1991 in hopes of providing answers not just to the Roswell Mystery in July, 1947, but also to other strange phenomenon and incidents related to sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
In 1990, Lt. Haut and Glenn Dennis, another participant of the Roswell incident, had decided to set up a museum for their findings and to continue their research in UFO-related incidents. After seeking help about finding the right location for the museum from real estate expert Max Littell, the idea for the International UFO Museum & Research Center came to be.
Besides exhibits exploring the Roswell Mystery, the museum also offers exhibits tackling other “alien” incidents such as the Area 51 incident, crop circles, and even ancient astronauts and alien abductions. Since 1996, the museum has also begun celebrating the Roswell UFO Festival every year, which offers carnivals, alien costume contests, trade shows, parades, 4th of July fireworks, and UFO lectures.
