The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park is a state and nature park in Carlsbad, New Mexico. It was formerly known as the Living Desert Zoological and Botanical State Park.

This indoor/outdoor living museum features the native flora and fauna of the Chihuahuan Desert at most. However, the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park is also home to hundreds of different plant life from all over the planet. Located at an elevation of 3200 feet, right on top of the Ocotillo Hills and overlooking the Pecos River and the City of Carlsbad, it?s a truly interesting site to check out.

Among the animals that can be seen at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park are pronghorn, kit fox, Gila monster, cougar, snakes, Mexican gray wolves, reptiles, prairie dogs, bison, badger, and bobcats. There?s also an aviary filled with different birds and some gardens.
