The Magdalena Ridge Observatory is an astronomical observatory and research facility in Socorro, New Mexico. It is a part of the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology?s Office of Research and Economic Development.

Created as a joint project between the New Mexico Tech and the University of Cambridge Cavendish Astrophysics Group, the Magdalena Ridge Observatory houses two main facilities that will have a single 2.4 meter telescope and an optical interferometer. It is funded by the United States Naval Research Laboratory and will be a part of the Office of Naval Research.

The Magdalena Ridge Observatory hosts workshops, lectures, and other educational programs related to astronomy and interferometry from time to time. Interested parties can also subscribe to their community astronomy newsletter.
