The Millicent Rogers Museum works toward the acquisition, preservation, conduction of research, displays, and interpretation of its collection that educates the public on art, history, and cultures of the Native America, Hispanic, and Euro-American peoples of the Southwest. The collection also emphasizes on northern New Mexico and Taos.

Millicent Rogers was the granddaughter of Henry Huttleston Rogers, one of the original founder of Standard Oil. In her times, Ms. Rogers was drawn to the landscape and history of Taos. She was able to assemble a stellar collection of Native American Jewelry and textiles.

The Millicent Rogers Museum was founded by the family of Millicent Rogers. Today, it is one of the most important resources for the study of southwestern art and design.
