The Montezuma Castle is a historic building in Montezuma, New Mexico. It holds the legacy of being the first site in the state to have electric lighting.

Built in 1886, the Montezuma Castle is actually the third building of its sort in the site. The first two (built in 1881 and 1885) burned down. They were all originally hotels, capitalizing on the natural hot springs of the area that were popular for their healing capabilities. It attracted visitors from all over the country and even from abroad.

The Montezuma Castle operated as a hotel until 1903. After that, it was used as a training center by Jim Flynn and then owned by the YMCA briefly later on. It was also operated as a Baptist college for a while. Today, it operates as the Armand Hammer United World College of the American West.
