One of the classical examples of today?s inheritance lies in the Santa Fe Plaza. Found in New Mexico, this plaza has been there since Spanish-American times and has survived to today. It is one of the larger more commercialized landmarks that can be found in New Mexico and is known as ?the Heart of Santa Fe?. Belonging to the oldest construction types, the Santa Fe Plaza still holds various festivals each year that are native to their Spanish ancestry. These activities attract thousands of tourists to the previously famous trade route of the 1600?s each year. But during the off season, the plaza acts as a place of recreation despite its relatively small size. Only recently was the Santa Fe Plaza looked after and renovated for its cultural heritage ? before such a time, the plaza suffered from poor landscaping and dirty surroundings. Established by Don Pedro Peralta in the 1600?s, the plaza was the center of all economic and political undertaking but now, in the 21st century, it is but a simple reminder of how the times change.
