The Sumner Lake State Park is a state park in Fort Sumner, New Meico. It is best known among anglers for being a great fishing spot with its lake filled with a variety of species.

Like most of the other state parks in New Mexico, the Sumner Lake State Park is one of the important habitats of migrating waterfowl during the winter months. This is one of the reasons why the area is protected and made into a state park. Aside from this, it is also a popular spot for various kinds of outdoor activities like camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking, biking, water skiing, and wildlife viewing. Fishers can also be sure to find here walleyes, crappies, bass, and channel catfish.
