The Walatowa Visitor Center is a visitor center with a mini museum in Ponderosa, New Mexico. It is focused on telling the story of the Pueblo of Jemez, which is one of the 19 pueblos of New Mexico.
Upon stepping inside the Walatowa Visitor Center, guests would immediately get immersed with the local culture, tradition, and history of the Pueblo of Jemez. The displays start with a photo exhibit where the times of the pueblo during the World War II are depicted. Most of the photos are taken by the NM Soil Conservation Photographers around 1936 to 1937. Some are from the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, while others are from the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology. Aside from these, there are also traditional art, pottery, and textiles on display and for sale.
