The Western New Mexico University Museum is a museum in Silver City, New Mexico dedicated to telling the story of the Native Americans of the region. It is best known for having the largest permanent display of Mimbres pottery and artifacts.
Housed in the historic Fleming Hall, the Western New Mexico University Museum celebrates the great local tradition, culture, arts, and crafts of the early inhabitants of the area. Their Mimbres pottery collection is the largest in the entire United States.
The Western New Mexico University Museum also has on display a number of Casas Grandes pottery pieces, ancient jewelry, historic photographs, military and mining artifacts, as well as some old stone tools. They also have a changing exhibit section where they feature something new to see and learn about.
