Located just across the vast expanse of Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History is one of the largest of its kind across the globe. The American Museum of Natural History?s structure is composed of 25 linked building that holds 46 exhibition halls, an acclaimed library and research facilities. Founded in 1869, the museum now attracts more than four million visitors every day.
It is one of the largest depositories of natural relics, housing more than 32 million specimens which due to sheer number, cannot be showcased at one single time. Some of the more popular attractions in the museum are: Hall of Ocean Life, Human Biology and Evolution, Hall of Minerals and Gems, Fossil Halls, The Art of Diorama and Hall of Meteorites. The Library of American Museum of Natural History contains an extensive and comprehensive literature collection on natural history, some of which go back to 15th century.

The museum is not only popular to scholars and academicians, but also to the general New York public. The American Museum of Natural History is situated within the confines of the scenic Theodore Roosevelt Park planked by different establishments such restaurants.

The American Museum of Natural History was featured in the novel The Night at the Museum where the hit movie Night at the Museum starring Ben Stiller was based on.
