Located at 31 Union Square West in Manhattan, New York City, the Bank of the Metropolis is another landmark in New York City. This building was declared a New York City landmark in 1988 and later on was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 2003. Today, the bank is now being used as a commercial space and apartments.

The building was designed by the famous architect Bruce Price. Price is known to design skyscrapers in three parts. This follows the structure of classical columns and this can be seen in the in the completed fa?ade of the building. Moreover, the whole fa?ade of the building is constructed in limestone and was built in 1902 until 1903.

The purpose of the construction of this building was to become a headquarters of the Bank of Metropolis, it was purchased by the Bank of Manhattan in 1918.
