Named for the intense battle that raged on a the nearby island at the Oswego River, the Battle Island State Park features unique terrain and forest areas that showcase the native vegetation of the area before its development. The Battle Island State Park Golf course is an 18-hole golf course referred to by enthusiasts as a challenging yet accessible course for budding professionals and amateur players. The course itself lies adjacent to the Oswego river which provides breathtaking vistas and is an excellent backdrop for a great game of golf. During the winter, the park is a great site for cross country skiing.
