Located just two blocks away from Central Park, Carnegie Hall has earned the reputation as one of the most prestigious settings in the global music arena, both for classical and popular music. Essentially an independent performing arts institution, the Carnegie Hall has its own creative, marketing and development arms and has not had a resident company since the New York Philharmonic transferred to the Lincoln Center?s Avery Fisher Hall in 1962.

Carnegie Hall offers an extensive roster of shows featuring more than 250 performances annually. Its main hall, the Isaac Stern Auditorium as a tribute to violinist Isaac Stern, can accommodate 2,804 people in five seating levels. Aside from this, two smaller venues can be found within Carnegie Hall namely Zankel Hall and the Weill Recital Hall. It also has its own museum called the Rose Museum which chronicles the history of Carnegie Hall.

Several world premieres of musical performances were staged in Carnegie Hall making it a significant landmark in Manhattan?s landscape.
