The Newstead Public Library is situated right at the center of Akron. It is also near the Octagon House and other shops in the village. They have a wide collection of various items including the most ancient newspapers of the village which date back even to 1978. The library is oozing with all the warm charm of the hometown.

They also are very active in their recycling project where community residents can throw in their recycled items in their allotted yellow and green bins.
