The Newstead Public Library is situated right at the center of Akron. It is also near the Octagon House and other shops in the village. You can be sure that upon arrival of every visitor in the library, you will be greeted with so much warmth and assistance with anything that they may be of help to your purpose of visit. They have a wide collection of various items including the most ancient newspapers of the village which date back even to 1978. The library is oozing with all the warm charm of the hometown.

They also are very active in their recycling project where community residents can throw in their recycled items in their allotted yellow and green bins. They also have the regular yearly sweater raffle which gives handmade knitted sweaters to the winner. The sweaters are made perfect for adults and kids alike. They have a lot of other resource center venues especially when you take the time to check out their site. They have numerous special collections to explore.
