The historic Seabreeze Amusement Park was built and owned by the Norris family on August 5, 1879 and now holds the 12th place on the list of the ?World?s Oldest Operating Amusement Parks?. In the U.S., it ranks fourth as well its most famous park ride, the ?Jack Rabbit? roller coaster. Like most amusement parks, the Seabreeze started out as a trolley park. Thanks to its good location and picturesque view of Lake Ontario and Irondequoit Bay, many people came to the park and paved the way to its development during the 1900s. It even came to the point that it was dubbed as the ?Coney Island of the West?. In 2004, during its 125th anniversary, the Seabreeze Park introduced a new spinning ride called ?The Whirlwind?. This move revived the amusement park and caused lots of people to rediscover one of New York?s historic landmarks.
