The Skene Manor has been the residence of numerous owners before it was restored to its original glory. Its structure consists of 6 dormers and pediments on its main tower. It has 5 chimneys made of native stone and cornices with wooden brackets.

Its interior boasts of its original Victorian style even though some alterations were done in the 1960?s. The Museum boasts of 3,000 square feet of area, 3 stories, 10 bedrooms, 3 dining rooms and 8 fireplaces. Its stair rail and banister are both made of mahogany, oak, walnut, and birch. The stair landing features stained-glass windows, which can also be found over the front door. While ceiling moldings enhance the rooms, there is a 3-foot wall mural on the main foyer that depicts the medieval hunt scene.
