The 1767 Chowan County Courthouse is a historic public structure in Edenton, North Carolina. It is best noted as the most intact colonial era courthouse in the United States.

The 1767 Chowan County Courthouse has quite an interesting story behind its construction. In the 1700s, before this structure was completed, Edenton was home to a 1718 wood courthouse. When the Virginia aristocrat William Byrd saw the building, he described it as having ?the appearance of a common tobacco barn?. This pushed the people to build a new one, in the Georgian architecture. It has served the county since its completion as a courthouse and has seen a lot of important events along the way. It was even used as a Whigs center during the Revolutionary War.
