The town of Carthage, North Carolina has a long history with the production of buggies. They have been once home to a world renowned buggy factory, popularly known as the Tyson and Jones Buggy Factory. It operated from the mid 1800s to the 1920s and produced a great amount of carriages that were used as a primary means of transportation back in the days.

This is why, in celebration of the area?s rich past and heritage, the Annual Carthage Buggy Festival is celebrated in the area every May. Initially started in 1989, the event has grown so much through the years that it is now known as one of the top festivals in the region. With their annual attendance of 15,000, it is truly worth checking out.
