The Chatham County Historical Museum is a local history museum in Pittsboro, North Carolina. It is housed in the historic Chatham County Courthouse built in 1881.

The Chatham County Historical Museum is an excellent location where folks can learn about the area?s colorful history and heritage. It features collections of artifacts and documents that go back to the early days of the area. It is particularly proud of the colonial warrant signed by William Hooper, the first county clerk of court and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. They also have a series of photographs, tax listings, a minute docket, and early maps among many others.

The Chatham County Historical Museum is open year round during Wednesdays. However, on the months of April through October, it is also available on Sunday afternoons.
