The Cherokee County Historical Museum is a local history museum in Murphy, North Carolina. It tells of the colorful past of the area, from its Native American residents to its pioneer settlers.

Housed in the town?s historic Carnegie Library, the Cherokee County Historical Museum showcases a great number of displays including a collection of more than 2000 Cherokee artifacts, antique farm implements, 700-piece doll collection, and an interpretive display about the local Cherokee history and culture. The site also serves as a Trail of Tears National Historic Trail interpretive center, with the town being the former site of the Fort Butler and the surrounding areas having played huge roles in the history, culture, and mythology of the Cherokee.

The Cherokee County Historical Museum is open year round, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
