The Clay County Historical & Arts Museum is a local arts and history museum in Hayesville, North Carolina. It is named after the Clay County Historical & Arts Council who owns and operates the site.
The Clay County Historical & Arts Museum is housed in the historic old Clay County jail building. It was built in 1912 for $3829 by Love and Lovin. It served as a public building from its completion up until 1972. It was turned into a museum shortly afterwards.
Today, the Clay County Historical & Arts Museum provides a great view into the past of the area. They have photos depicting the old days, as well as antiques and historic items recovered from all over the locale.
