The Country Doctor Museum is a local history museum in Bailey, North Carolina. It is focused on chronicling and telling visitors of the history of rural health care in the country.

Established in 1967, the Country Doctor Museum honors the ?old family doctor?. It is actually a massive complex with displays placed in three different buildings in one location. They feature artifacts that tell of the practice of medicine during the late 18th century to the first half of the 20th century. Their collection has grown up to 5000 pieces strong, from medical items, instruments, and even historic texts from all over the United States.

The Country Doctor Museum is a truly interesting site to visit, as you don?t really get to see a lot of amputation kits and turn of the century obstetric instruments on a regular basis.
