The state of North Carolina was a big producer of textile back in its plantation days. This is why it shouldn?t be surprising that it has a number of historic mill villages opened as tourist and educational attractions today.

If you?re interested in such information, one great venue to see is the Edenton Cotton Mill Museum in Edenton, North Carolina. It features the history of the Edenton Cotton Mill, which was founded in 1898 by a number of local residents. It served as one of the only two spinning mills in the Albermarle area and continued to be in local ownership until February 1990.

The Edenton Cotton Mill Museum is proud to be considered to have one of the most well preserved mill villages in the state.
