The Forest Theatre is an outdoor ampitheatre located inside the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. It is a part of the North Carolina Botanical Garden and has been around since the early 1900s.

This stone ampitheater structure has been around for almost a hundred years now. Its first performance was in 1916, in celebration of Shakespeare’s 300th death anniversary. It was later developed by the founder of the Carolina Playmakers, Professor Frederick Koch. Its stunning location makes it quite a hit among tourists and romantics that is has also become a regular venue for weddings and other events.

The Forest Theatre also hosts regular theatrical productions every summer. Fees are commonly collected for such events ($10 for adults).
