The Governor Richard Caswell Memorial is a museum in Kinston, North Carolina. It tells of the life and times of Richard Caswell, one of Kinston?s most important citizens.

Originally from Maryland, Governor Caswell lived and served the Lenoir County and the state of North Carolina from 1754 onwards. He served in the colonial assembly for 17 years, and around that time (1762), he introduced a bill that led to the establishment of the town of Kingston (present day Kinston). He also led the Patriot forces during the Revolutionary War and became chosen as the first elected governor of North Carolina.

The Governor Richard Caswell Memorial features displays about Governor Caswell and his contributions to the state. There are also exhibits about his career as the first elected governor of North Carolina.
