Howard?s Knob, also formally known as Howard Knob, is a mountain located in Boone, North Carolina. It is a part of the Appalachian Mountain Range and measures 4406 feet above sea level and 1000 feet above the town of Boone.

The Howard?s Knob named after Benjamin Howard, a British loyalist and early settler in the area. It is said that he hid on the knoll from the Whigs, which could be one of the reasons why it was named after him. The site is also a popular tourist destination, especially since it was the location of the infamous wind turbine that the Department of Energy installed up the mountains.

Howard?s Knob is popular among extreme sports enthusiasts. It is a popular spot for bouldering, hang gliding, and rock climbing.
