The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Gardens is a public park in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is best noted for being the very first public park to be established that is solely devoted to Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement.
Created in 1989, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Gardens has a life sized, bronze statue of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wearing a Doctorate Clerical Robe as one of its highlights. It is designed to be touched and felt by visitors, mounted on the ground to allow everyone access. It is believed to be the only statue of its sort in the world.
A great amount of different activities are available on the site, especially after its expansion just recently.
