The Mill Village Museum is a very interesting site in Cooleemee, North Carolina. It presents an excellent way to learn about local history, by presenting visitors the facts of how it is like to live in a cotton mill village in the older days of the state.
The Mill Village Museum boasts of a background where it was once a company owned town, showing visitors another face of an industrial frontier. The village is composed of more than 300 original mill houses, with the Zachary-Holt House standing as the main museum where you can find collections of photographs and artifacts that tell the tale of the area when it still functioned as the locale?s center of the early 1900s textile industry.
