The Morganton Railroad Depot & Museum is a railroad museum in Morganton, North Carolina. It is focused on the rich railroading history of the area which was from the late 1800s to the 1970s.

Even during the earlier years of the 1800s, the mountain regions of North Carolina have always needed an efficient transportation system to prevent massive crop failures. This pushed the state legislators to do something about it and have rail lines installed in the area. The whole project may have taken quite some time to be completed, but it still managed to help the growth of Morganton and its neighboring towns.

This is why, in honor of that heritage, the Morganton Railroad Depot & Museum was created. It features railroad memorabilia and other historic items.
