The Mountain Heritage Center is a historical museum in Cullowhee, North Carolina. It focuses on Appalachian studies and heritage. It is located inside the campus of the Western Caroline University.

The Mountain Heritage Center is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the cultural heritage of the southern Appalachian region. It was formed in the mid 1970s by the school’s Appalachian-born chancellor, HF Robinson. He started the site, which continues to interpret, document, and study the culture and history of the region through its artifacts, traditional craft, music, and crafts. They also recognize the Scotch-Irish heritage of the area.

The Mountain Heritage Center is also the home of the Mountain Heritage Day, which is an annual event where the traditional mountain culture is celebrated.
