The Museum of Coastal Carolina is a natural history museum in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. It was established in 1991 by Stuart Ingram, a man dedicated in sharing his passion and knowledge through science and nature.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is best known for being the only natural history museum on a barrier island in all of North Carolina. It offers a wide range of attractions that help visitors understand the natural area better, as well as give them the chance to learn the importance of caring for Mother Nature. There are underwater archaeology artifacts, shark teeth exhibits, ecosystem dioramas, and Native American history displays. The site also encourages interaction, and loves to distinguish itself as not like other museums where silence is treasured the most.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is open year round on varying schedules.
