The North Carolina Arboretum is a public garden located in Asheville, North Carolina. It is composed of 434 acres inside the Bent Creek Experimental Forest of the Pisgah National Forest.

Established in 1989, the North Carolina Arboretum was originally conceptualized by Frederick Law Olmstead in 1898. He wanted to create one at the Biltmore Estate, but things didn?t go as planned. The current one was initially established as a part of the University of North Carolina in 1986, and was officially designated as such a couple of years later.

Like many arboretums in the country, the North Carolina Arboretum is still being developed today. It is equipped with facilities that welcome guests and visitors, and present a wide array of different plants.
