The North Carolina Estuarium is an educational site in Washington, North Carolina focused on telling visitors more about the ecology of the state’s estuaries, especially in the area. Located on the Pamlico River, it emphasizes the importance of the coastal rivers and sounds in the region.

Located in the second largest estuary in the country, the North Carolina Estuarium offers a lot to its visitors. It has aquariums, regional artifacts, and exhibits that aims to inform and educate the public about the area’s role in the whole order of things. Housed in a 12,500 square foot building, there is a wide array of different things that you can explore and learn about while here.

The North Carolina Estuarium is open on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.
