The Oakboro Regional Museum of History is a local history museum in Oakboro, North Carolina. It chronicles the history of the area, from its pre-settlement days to the present.
Housed in the restored 1930s Drye?s Furniture store building, the Oakboro Regional Museum of History is a time capsule of the entire town of Oakboro. It features a collection of more than 1000 photos, artifacts, and other historic items that tell of the history of the town from its humble beginnings to its rise to what it is today, thanks to the ingenuity of some of its citizens. The site tells of the many industries and phases the area went through.
The Oakboro Regional History Museum is open on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays.
